Hi. My name is Travis Nichols. I am a Texan in Brooklyn. I write books. And draw drawings. And paint. And draw comics. And rock (and roll). So until this interweb fad goes away or gets co-opted by THE MAN, this is a “website” of my work. Feel free to “click around”. I also cold hustle my wares, so if you’ve paid your rent and picked up enough tofu and vegetables to get you by until next week, well, have at it, darling. I accept funds made of money. Also, I like you a lot. And i really wish you’d recycle.
Hey, but seriously, though. Real quick. I’m the author and illustrator of Matthew Meets the Man, The Monster Doodle Book, and Punk Rock Etiquette: The Ultimate How-To Guide for DIY, Punk, Indie, and Underground Bands. Punk Rock Etiquette was awarded a Blue Ribbon by The Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books. I’m still waiting on the actual blue ribbon to arrive. PRE was also nominated as one of the Best Books for Young Adults, as well as one of the 2009 Popular Paperbacks by YALSA.
My comics have appeared in Nickelodeon Magazine (R.I.P.) and Herbivore Magazine (R.I.P. – where do magazines go when they die?), as well as in several anthologies and zines. My client list for illustration includes Miami New Times, Soundcheck Magazine, and Dell Computers. I was chosen as one of the “25 Most Fascinating Vegetarians” by VegNews Magazine. They sent me a printed sheet of paper in a plastic frame and everything. I know. It’s pretty serious.
But listen. Let’s get really real here. What’s going on with you? I feel like we haven’t had a chance to get to know each other. I’d… I’d like you to meet my parents. I know. I know it’s soon, but the heart works at its own pace. They’re great people. And they are going to LOVE you.
